In detail

MX-Eye in detail

MX-Eye is the periocular cocktail of the FORMA MX range, formulated for the thinnest skin of the face. Its declared composition is organised around arbutin, tranexamic acid and niacinamide; caffeine and hesperidin methyl chalcone; four peptides — copper tripeptide-1, acetyl tetrapeptide-5, palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7 and dipeptide-2; and sodium DNA with Crocus sativus callus extracellular vesicles. FORMA MX is supplied as a Professional Multi-vial Treatment: three 10 ml sterile vials in a drawer-style box, for superficial mesotherapy performed by qualified medical practitioners. Made in Italy by Forma S.R.L.S. under ISO 13485 and ISO 22716.

It is not a filler, and it is not placed like one. MX-Eye is administered as superficial micro-injections around the orbital rim. It is not indicated for intradermal filling or for correction of volume; within the FORMA range, the device indicated for the under-eye as a dermal filler is FORMA Light, at 20 mg/ml in the superficial dermis. The two address different things and are not interchangeable.

The protocol. FORMA specifies a course of 3–4 sessions at intervals of 2–3 weeks, by superficial micro-injection around the orbital rim. This is the one MX cocktail for which FORMA publishes a session count and interval; the practitioner remains responsible for adapting it to the individual patient.

On sodium DNA. MX-Eye declares sodium DNA. This differs from MX-Age, which declares hydrolyzed DNA and hydrolyzed RNA and does not contain polydeoxyribonucleotide. The distinction is stated here because the two are frequently conflated when nucleotide-based ingredients are compared.

Questions we are asked

Is FORMA MX-Eye a dermal filler?
No. It is an exo-meso cocktail for superficial micro-injection around the orbital rim, and is not indicated for intradermal filling or volume correction. FORMA Light is the dermal filler indicated for the under-eye area.
What is the recommended protocol for MX-Eye?
A course of 3–4 sessions at intervals of 2–3 weeks, by superficial micro-injection around the orbital rim.
Which peptides does MX-Eye contain?
Four: copper tripeptide-1, acetyl tetrapeptide-5, palmitoyl tetrapeptide-7 and dipeptide-2.
Does MX-Eye contain sodium DNA?
Yes. MX-Age, by contrast, declares hydrolyzed DNA and hydrolyzed RNA, which are not polydeoxyribonucleotide.
How is FORMA MX-Eye supplied?
As three 10 ml sterile vials in a drawer-style box — a Professional Multi-vial Treatment.
Who may administer FORMA MX?
Qualified medical practitioners only, by superficial mesotherapy.
